To bridge the gap between cybersecurity and physical security, which has been technically separated for over a decade due to silos, new technologies like cloud and AI are driving innovation. This technological advancement is leading to the convergence of cybersecurity and physical security, a trend that is reinforcing the roles of CSOs and CISOs, and prompting departmental integration. Continuous technological and departmental consolidation has posed the challenge of protecting physical security within cybersecurity, necessitating a deeper understanding between the two fields. This session will outline what cybersecurity professionals need to know to effectively protect physical security and safety-related infrastructure, and discuss the technologies being utilized in the innovation of physical security.
